This exceptional desert trip will explore some extremely famous and beautiful places in Morocco such as Erfoud, Erg Chebbi, Ouarzazate and Ifrane or the little Switzerland of Morocco.
Tour Itinerary
You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel in Agadir to start this fabulous desert trip. Your first destination will be the beautiful city of Ouarzazate and its famous old castle ‘Ait Ben Haddou’ where many great Hollywoods movies have been turned.
On our way to Ouarzazate, you will have several stops with your driver to visit some interesting and well-known places like the village of Taroudant, Taliouine or the capital of Safran, and the little Taznakht where you will be able to see the best Berber Carpets in Morocco, totally handmade and produced in the local cooperatives.
Just a few kilometers before getting to Ouarzazate, we will visit the great Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou with a local tour guide, then we will spend the first night in Ouarzazate.
We will start the second day of our tour by visiting the little village of Tinghir where we will explore some great agriculture fields and the local traditional water system, then we will have a demonstration of Berber carpets in a local cooperative before leaving to look for more amazing places around.
We will have a lunch break in Tinjedad, then we will keep driving through gorgeous desert landscapes till we get to Merzouga and the great Erg Chebbi Dunes.
We will have dinner and spend the night in the nomad desert camp in the middle of the dunes.
We will spend the whole day in Erg Chebbi in order to experience the outstanding and original lifestyle of Sahraouis.
We will start our desert experience early in the morning by an impressive camel ride tour over the dunes of Merzouga and we will watch one of the most memorable desert sunrise.
After getting back peacefully to our desert camp, we will join our driver for an onsite excursion to see some incredible places in the desert, like to famous village of Khamila where the black slaves and Gnawa Music come from several years ago.
Then we will visit the lake of Merzouga, one of the best areas in Morocco for spotting desert birds, we will enjoy the panoramic views and we will watch different kind of desert birds.
We will meet on the road some local tribes and nomads, then we will go back to our Berber camp to join an immersive experience with dinner around the camp fire and Berber music to spend more pleasant moments.
Early in the morning, we will have a small walking tour over the dunes, we will see one more time the beautiful desert sunrise, then we will leave for Rissani to visit Mly Ali Cherif Mausoleum and the large palm groves. We will choose a local restaurant in Nkob to have lunch before ending this day-trip in Ouarzazate where we will spend the night in the hotel.
This is the last day of our desert tour which end with a drop-off in Fez, but all along the way, you will be amazed by several places cities like Errachidia, Midlt and Ifrane.
